Criteria

Local Shops Page

• Shop must be located in the Chicagoland area. If it is a service, the service must serve the Chicagoland area.

• If it’s purely online, it must offer pickup within Chicagoland.

• The shop cannot be temporary. We do accept pop-ups, but they have to operate regularly. One-time events should be posted on our Facebook page.

• It must have sustainability credentials. These vary depending on the category, but we reserve the right to decide whether their practices are truly sustainable. General Stores must have BYO container/refill options, as this significantly reduces waste.

Restaurants

• Polystyrene-Free Restaurants - to be added to this list, the restaurant’s owner or manager must confirm that they do not use any Styrofoam or other #6 plastic containers.

Reuse and Recycle Pages

• Resource must have a drop-off location in Chicagoland. We will not include any resources that require someone to mail their items.

• Resource cannot be temporary. We do accept pop-ups, but they need to operate regularly. One-time events should be posted on our Facebook page.
